I started my career as a retail graphic designer for 10 Red Design in 2004. I worked there for over 10 years taking shopper insights and turning them into store displays and signage that helped the customer along their journey to find the right product for their needs.
When my son (the cute boy in the photo!) was born in 2014 my husband and I decided it would be better for our family if I left my full time position to care for our newborn son. I did some freelance design on the side and started a small photography business.
Hardship struck our family in 2017 when my husband was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a blood cancer. I became a full-time caregiver to him. Unfortunately in 2020 he lost the 3 year fight to the cancer and I became a widow with a young son.

Moving Forward
After my husband’s death I realized I wanted to go back to school to get my master’s degree. It was a personal dream of mine to earn a masters and I choose communications because I felt it was a great compliment to my BFA in Graphic Design. I now understand what the client’s needs and wants are better than ever.

I find immense joy in the journey of research, uncovering insights, and applying newfound knowledge. Crafting something that resonates with the intended audience is both fulfilling and enjoyable. I eagerly anticipate immersing myself back into full-time design work!
At the beginning of my master’s journey, I was lucky to find love again (see the handsome man in the photos above). We have blended our families and enjoy living in the Syracuse, NY area with our two boys and 2 dogs. In my spare time you’ll find me crocheting, taking photos or digitally painting on my iPad.
