about me background

Rite Aid OTC
Department Reinvention

PROJECT TYPE:

Retail Design

ROLE:

Graphic Designer + Photographer

CLIENT:

Johnson & Johnson +
Rite Aid

The Task:

Revamp the Over the Counter Medicine Department at Rite Aid Drug stores by leveraging insights obtained from focus group research. Key phrases such as "Treat, Soothe, Defend" and "Treat, Soothe, Manage" emerged as preferred options among participants, aiding in directing them towards the appropriate products for colds and allergies.

My Role:

My role as the graphic designer for this project involved overseeing all print components, from design conception to production management.

The Process:

I sourced imagery for the endcaps and information panels within the aisle and collaborated with our Account Manager and VP of Insights to refine the communication language based on our research findings. Following final approval, I commenced the final preparation of mechanical files, ensuring the graphics' sizes were confirmed with the fabrication team. Upon completion of the final prototype, I photographed it in our lab before it was transferred to Rite Aid's retail lab.

The Outcome:

The OTC Rite Aid Reinvention Aisle prototype was presented to the Rite Aid Team by Johnson & Johnson and 10 Red at Rite Aid’s Model Store in PA. It eventually was put into test at a Rite Store, producing excellent results resulting in a rollout across hundreds of Rite Aid stores throughout the country
